Lyrics
O blood and water did pour out for us
And you sang of the Father who killed his Son
You were sinking in your anger and despair
But you, my friend, were not the only one
Sunday after the Son rose for us
I dove into the ocean of mercy
And there I felt the loss of you
My love was deep but it wasn’t free
O the burden was too great to hold alone
So I sought the help of a woman I know well
Crowned with stars, the moon at her feet
She overturned the Eve by which we fell
On the 24th of April I don’t know where you were
But I sought out the Sighing Dove to intercede
to lift up her wings and shelter you
in a blanket of roses and sweet perfume
And for your joy and peace not for my eyes to see
With love and farewell pressed to my lips on every bead
And for my own surrender and my heart to be freed
For many days I contemplated mysteries
And lifted up my thoughts and pain and tears
From the lonely Agony to the Holy Tree,
the water turned to wine and cast away my fears
On the 16th day of June I don’t know where you were
But a mourning dove built a nest beside my door
She bore a gentle sign of hope
Giving me the freedom to let go
And a sign that my prayer was heard for sure.
Sometimes you don’t know what you’re praying for
Sometimes you don’t know what you’re praying for
